Since graduating from the Surrey Institute in 2004, Jesse Alexander has developed a photographic practice, establishing himself as a freelance photographer in Bristol and the South West region of England. Although his practice is motivated by conceptual and issue-based subjects, he has an excellent technical and practical knowledge of digital and analogue photographic techniques, informed and developed by his commercial and editorial commissions, as well as his experience as a commercial photographer's assistant.
Jesse has also developed a written practice and contributed exhibition reviews to the prestigious photographic journal Source since 2005, and reviews, features and interviews for HotShoe International magazine. He has also been commissioned to write for other publications and contributions for catalogue essays.
Jesse recently graduated with a Master of Fine Art postgraduate degree in Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport. His final piece was an installation of works on light boxes in a cave in Bristol, which explored the relationship between man and the subterranean.
