Irena Boobyer

I am a practicing artist and teacher based in Devon. I work with a range of different media that includes fabric, yarns, paint and paper. I combine my own personal practice with part-time teaching in school and tutoring OCA students at home or by post.

As a tutor with the Open College of Arts since the mid-1990s it continues to be a pleasure to work with students as they develop their practice through their coursework, gain credits towards their degree studies or complete modules for the personal pleasure of learning.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a teaching degree specialising in Art & in 1992. In 2002 I completed my Masters dissertation on Contemporary Textile Art Practice at the University of Plymouth. In 2010 I obtained my MQ (mandatory qualification) P.G. Dip. Ed. (Multi-Sensory Impairment) from Birmingham University.

My work can be seen on irenaboobyer.co.uk/ and www.southwesttextilegroup.org.uk and on the www.saa.co.uk website.
