Elizabeth Ashworth

I’ve been a published writer since I sold a short article, about the Spanish Riding School, to Diana at the age of eleven. This was followed by my first fiction sale to Pony Annual just four years later and since then my work has been published in a wide variety of publications including Lancashire Magazine, Lancashire Life, The Lady, My Weekly, People’s Friend and Take a Break Fiction Feast.

I have written three local interest books:

  • Champion Lancastrians was published by Sigma Press in November 2006
  • Tales of Old Lancashire was published by Countryside Books in 2007
  • Lancashire: Who Lies Beneath? was published by Countryside Books in October 2009 and reached number one in Amazon’s bestseller list of books about genealogy. I am currently working on a similar book about Yorkshire for the same publisher.

My historical novel The de Lacy Inheritance will be published by Myrmidon Books in 2010 and will be followed by another novel By Loyalty Bound.

As well as being a qualified teacher of both adults and children I am a member of the Society of Authors, the National Association of Writers in Education, and the Lancashire Authors’ Association.

You can find some samples of my articles and short stories as well as the opening chapter of my novel on my website at www.elizabethashworth.com
