Derek Trillo

I am a professional photographer and photography tutor based in the Manchester area of the UK. I have been published widely in books, magazines and travel guides for over twenty years. My personal website is http://www.insightimages.co.uk

I worked as a staff photographer/digital imaging specialist for the University of Manchester from 1994 to 2008. I now run my own photography business - Insight Images. I specialise in photography of architecture, artworks, travel, heritage and documentary. I undertake work in the above categories, and I am also interested in new challenges. For example I have previously accepted commissions in the following areas - aerial, underwater, construction, fine art, fashion, weddings, sports, wildlife etc.

I have received two awards from the Royal Photographic Society: Licentiateship of Royal Photographic Society (1990) and Associateship of Royal Photographic Society (1997).

I was awarded a Master of Arts Degree (Photography) from De Montfort University (2004-2006).

I am a member of the Association of Historical and Fine Art Photographers. I photographed Listed Buildings for English Heritage 1999-2002. I am a former committee member for the Contemporary Group of the Royal Photographic Society.

Previous clients include: Manchester Museum, The Whitworth Art Gallery, The BBC, Rough Guides, Bradt Guides, The Lowry Galleries, The CUBE Gallery, Manchester Airport.

I have had work exhibited at the following galleries: National Media Museum, Bradford; AOP Gallery, London; Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; CUBE Gallery, Manchester; Harris Art Gallery Preston; Viewpoint, Salford; The Octagon, Bath; Gallery Oldham; City Gallery, Leicester; Warwickshire College, Leamington Spa.
