Mary Michael's New and Selected Poems, The Shape of the Rock (Sea Cow, 2003) was chosen for the ‘Alternative Next Generation’ list of thirteen outstanding small press poetry books in 2005, and described by the selectors as ‘The kind of work which endures’. Her collection of prose fictions, My Life in Films (The Other Press, 2006), has also been highly praised; ‘A significant exploration of self and identity which … deserves sustained attention’ (How 2). At Salisbury House she will also be reading from her latest poetry pamphlet, Caret Mark, published this autumn by Hearing Eye.
