Moira Lovell, OCA photography tutor, was one of only five successful candidates chosen from over 170 photographers who applied to take part in an exhibition hosted by the National Media Museum. The exhibition features projects, which explore extraordinarily varied subjects and demonstrate the range of exciting talent working in the UK today. Lovell won the Jerwood Photography Award in 2007 for her series 'The After School Club', a photographic series that presented young women taken from school uniform-themed nightclubs and returned them to their old schools, still wearing fancy dress. In her new series, produced for the Pavilion Commission, Lovell has further pursued her exploration of feminist debates, questioning gender politics within so-called 'manly' sports. With her recent piece 'Stand Your Ground'. Lovell's confrontational camera studies the relationship between individual player and manager.
