Discounts and Bursaries

At OCA we believe education in the arts should be available to as many individuals as possible. However, not all students have the same financial resources. There are ways to help reduce the cost of studying.

The OCA Bursary

The OCA is an educational charity. Although we receive no core Government funding, the charity’s trustees have established a bursary fund to help with course costs. To apply for the OCA Bursary, please download this booklet and fill out the form it contains - OCA Bursary Guidance notes. Please ring the Academic Office on 0800 731 2116 if you have any questions.

Employers and Local Authorities

Many employers have schemes which help with fees, particularly for accredited courses. Local authorities may have information about local educational grant-giving trusts. Schools may support their teachers with the cost of work-related courses.

MOD and Armed Forces

The MoD's Enhanced Learning Credits scheme (ELC) is an initiative to promote lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The OCA is now an ELC approved learning provider. Our provider number is 1750. Contact Lee Openshaw (01226 704367) if you have any queries.
