Help with Fees

At OCA we believe education in the arts should be available to as many individuals as possible. However, not all students have the same financial resources. There are ways to help reduce the cost of studying.

Bursaries

If you receive Income Support, Incapacity Allowance, Disability Allowance, Jobseekers Allowance or Family Tax Credit, we will deduct £100 (UK residents only) from your fees. Simply enter £100 in the deductions box of your enrolment form and send a photocopy of the relevant documentation by fax to 01226 730 838 or by post to:

Open College of the Arts,
The Michael Young Arts Centre,
Unit 1B,
Redbrook Business Park,
Wilthorpe Road,
Barnsley,
S75 1JN.

Career Development Loans

The government offers interest free loans to cover up to 80% of the cost of vocational courses, or the entire cost if you have been unemployed for 3 months or longer. Call 0800 585 505 to find out more about Career Development Loans.

Employer Schemes

Many employers now have schemes which help with fees, particularly for accredited courses like those at OCA. Your local authority should have information about local educational grant-giving bodies.
