Visual Communications

What do we mean by Visual Communications? Essentially this is artistic practice applied to getting a message across. There are two very important strands in the development of the practice and theory of visual communications. Firstly, there is a long history of commercial visual communication, using images and words to sell products and services. But there is an equally strong tradition of recruiting these same means to effect social and political change. These two traditions have fed on each other and continue to do so.

The OCA is developing a new degree in Visual Communications, but in the meantime we have two key level one courses available to enrol.
