This course will help you become proficient in using a digital camera and the computer software which handles and processes images. It is highly practical, avoids unnecessary jargon and assumes no prior experience in digital photography. It will help you feel comfortable with digital technology, know how to optimise images, understand image resolution and digital storage. The course is suitable for complete beginners or more advanced digital photographers. However, it is recommended that you study Photography 1: Art of Photography before this course.
This course was written for the OCA by best selling photography author Michael Freeman.
The course aims to help you understand digital images and file formats; learn how to use digital imaging software and digital filing systems; learn how to analyse and modify images.
You are allocated a tutor and receive their details in your course pack. You work from the course materials and send regular assignments to your tutor. These are returned to you with comment and advice. The course fee includes tutor feedback on your set assignments, but you can purchase feedback and comment on additional pieces of work if you wish.
23 projects and five assignments. Students also maintain a learning log.
