Art History

OCA art history courses can be studied individually for personal development or together towards a degree. Art history modules can be studied from level one to three as part of the BA(Hons) in Creative Arts or at level one as part of the BA(Hons) Photography and BA(Hons) Painting programmes. OCA's art history courses are unique in their approach to the subject. Students learn how to annotate works of art, noting the various aspects of them in detail: both technical and aesthetic. Students are strongly encouraged to visit museums and galleries and make good use of the internet for research purposes while they are studying art history courses with us. All students at OCA get free access to the world renowned Bridgeman Education Art Library which contains thousands of images from the History of Art from all over the world, across the centuries.
