Core Requirement for BA Hons Painting
Elective Option for BA Hons Textiles, BA Hons Creative Arts

This new course will develop your skills as a painter and your knowledge of painting. The course encourages you to experiment with a range of painting media and helps you learn how to analyse and select from the visual world and how to translate what you see into painting. You will be asked to complete studies of objects around you, as well as figures and landscapes. The course references a range of artists, both contemporary and throughout history, and asks you to relate your own work to your context and the art of others that you look at..You will be using acrylics and/or oils and developing your drawing skills. We strongly recommend starting your painting studies with this course, but if you are convinced you have already covered the ground, direct entry to a higher level course is possible – but please speak to us first.
