BA Hons Creative Writing degree
The main educational aims of the BA (Hons) Creative Writing are to:
- Widen access to education in creative writing at undergraduate level through Open and Flexible Learning.
- Ensure you gain an experience of writing in a variety of literary forms and genres as a craft and as a tool for exploring our environment and experience.
- Provide an intellectually stimulating programme of study based on high quality study material delivered by experienced academics and practitioners.
- Develop your creative capacities and your ability in interpretation and application.
- Develop your critical understanding of the theoretical and conceptual issues central to the practice of writing and the social, historical and cultural context in which it is practised.
- Provide an environment in which the student has the possibility of changing your view of the world and your interaction with it both visually and intellectually.
- Develop effective writing practitioners who display self-awareness, analytical and communicative skills, and a degree of reflection.
