Overview

This course explores the writing of short fiction and develops your awareness of the genre. It contains an introduction to the art of the short story and presents stories and essays by contemporary writers who discuss their working methods and techniques. It is recommended that students take the Starting to Write course before starting this course but direct entry is available for more experienced writers

Course Assessment

You will receive comments and direction from your tutor throughout the course. If you choose to have your work formally assessed, you will receive details on submitting a folio of work with the course materials.

Time Guide:

To complete the course in 9-12 months requires about 6 hours a week.
