Overview

This course stimulates awareness of contemporary poetry and helps you to produce a strong and varied portfolio of work. It contains an introduction to the history, art and techniques of poetry as well as many examples of poems with discussion of their form and theme. It is recommended that students take the Starting to Write course before starting this course but direct entry is available for more experienced writers.

  • Fantasy and the subconscious
  • Politics and conflict.

Course Assessment

You will receive comments and direction from your tutor throughout the course. If you choose to have your work formally assessed, you will receive details on submitting a folio of work with the course materials.

Higher Education Credit: 60 credit points at Level 2

Postal tuition you send work to your tutor for comments and direction.

Time Guide:

To complete the course in 9-12 months requires about 6 hours a week.

Fees:

£580 full fee or £215 deposit and 6 x £74 monthly payments, totalling £659
